Rhodesia - Intaf

Passing out parade at the DA training centre on the outskirts of Mtoko, run by Dudley Wall. You had to drive through the leper colony to get to the training centre. The Colony was run by an amazing Catholic priest, who was usual dressed in shorts, a short sleeved shirt and sandals. He was tall and wiry and as tough as old shoe leather. Like many of the missionaries I met in that part of the world, he was an amazing man, totally dedicated to his work and always had a cheery smile on his face. He was eventually murdered by the ters and it was reported in the press that his coffin started to bleed at his funeral.
