Picture brings back many memories, oddly, most of them good. 8 weeks of hell has a way of bonding guys. I was a useless immature wee boy back when I was called up but it became the basis for the much better person I am today.
I'm back in Scotland now but will always consider Rhodesia my spiritual home.

This was taken after our passing out parade at LLewellyn Barracks in October/November 1974.I don't think I have any good memories of this manic place. I think all the sadists in the country must have been put in charge here at the same time. The only time I had a little peace was when I went to the Officers' course for a week. After failing that, I was really grilled by all in charge. The best part was the back of it leaving, after being volunteered for Intaf.
